For toast originally, but works great for bills letters etc too Bloomin hard to date, as no clues on it anywhere. I would say 1970s, but could be earlier? Soo kitsch. Made from a silver metal, which could be silver plate looking at the tarnish, but again, no hallmarks, so cannot be sure. Heavy weight with a green baize bottom Has a removable rack, for cleaning, so could also be used as a trinket dish or something else perhaps?
