1891 Ad Dr R Ogden Doremus Quote Ivory Soap Bar Procter - ORIGINAL LHJ3 XDA4 John SingerThis is an original 1891 black and white print ad for Ivory Soap by the Procter and Gamble Company of Cincinnati. There is a legend that the floating Ivory Soap was an accident. A worker left the air mixing machine on for too long and because mixing extra air doesn't effect the ingredients the company sold the "ruined" batch of soap. Procter and Gamble received many appreciative letters about this floating soap they decided to increase the mix time
