Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised leftward facing profile of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, circumscribed by name and title, above a banner bearing dates 1813 1814 1815, the reverse with a central monogram of King Wilhelm I (later Kaiser Wilhelm I), topped by an inscription of DEN 17 MRZ
