The fossil remains of this dinosaur were discovered in the Wulansuhai Formation near Linhe in Inner Mongolia, China, which explains its name. It was first described in 2011 and is one of the most interesting members of the alvarezsaurid family, a group of small bipedal dinosaurs that specialized
