Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine style Geraman national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a central U Boat, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with LDO code L 56 for Funcke & Brninghaus, Ldenscheid, measuring 49. 23 mm (w) x 40. 64
