Chicago, Il. The seat of the stool is comprised of solid wood, the spring loaded cast iron bracket keeps the seat in an upright position when not in use. This stool was intended for tight spaces including street cars, elevator cabs, locomotives and so on. This seat measures 10" in diameter and extends 11. 75" from the wall. JM 100322
