Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A House Order of Peter Friedrich Ludwig, I Class Knight’s Cross in Gold Province of China WWII American Purple Heart -(Oldenburger Haus und Verdienstorden, Ritterkreuz I. Klasse in Gold). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August. (1838 1918 issue). Constructed of 14K Gold with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Patte with white enameled arms, the obverse bearing a central blue enameled medallion overlaid by a Gold monogram of Grand Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig, surrounded by a red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of EIN GOTT,
