Taiga Takahashi preferred denim from store based brands rather than well known denim brands. In particular, he liked Foremost which was made by J. C. Penny. They started producing denims in the 1920s by imitating well known denim brands, gradually developed their own unique styles. Takahashi collected these denims and imagined the brands attempts to differentiate themselves from well known denim
